If it’s a meeting tool, why are we talking about screen recording?

Google Meet has the ability to present, and the ability to record built into the software. The ability to record is a temporary tool for the teachers of CESD. It is intended for Google Enterprise, and is an extrememly costly feature, but Google is providing it free of charge during the Covid-19 pandemic.

To record a lesson, open all the tabs you would want to show your students prior to beginning to record. Examples may include:

  • If you have a slideshow you wish to show students, have it open in one tab.
  • Maybe you want to show a Youtube Video – have it open in another tab.
  • Want to use a PhET Simulation? Have it ready in another tab.
  • If you want to use Kami to go through a previous lesson or demonstrate a skill, have it open.

You get the drift. Just have all your content ready to go.
